Service Overview

Protective Coatings & Insulation
Services in Sri Lanka

Our waterproofing service company provides expert solutions in protective coatings and insulation to safeguard your buildings from environmental damage and improve energy efficiency. Our high-performance coatings shield surfaces from moisture, corrosion and wear, while our advanced insulation systems reduce heat and energy costs.

In Sri Lanka's harsh tropical climate — intense UV radiation, high humidity, heavy monsoon rainfall and salt-laden coastal air — unprotected concrete and masonry surfaces deteriorate rapidly. The right protective coating system dramatically extends the service life of your building's fabric, reduces maintenance costs, and improves the comfort and energy efficiency of interior spaces.

We supply and apply certified Supercrete New Zealand coating systems alongside specialist thermal and waterproof insulation products — all selected specifically for performance in Sri Lanka's climatic conditions.

Shielding Your Building
From the Elements

Sri Lanka's climate is relentlessly demanding on building exteriors. Uncoated concrete absorbs moisture, carbonates progressively, and allows chloride ions to reach reinforcement bars — triggering corrosion, cracking and spalling. Our protective coating systems create a durable barrier between the structure and the environment.

  • Anti-carbonation coatings — breathable coatings that block CO₂ penetration while allowing moisture vapour to escape, halting the carbonation process
  • Elastomeric wall coatings — highly flexible coatings that bridge hairline cracks and seal external walls from water penetration while flexing with structural movement
  • Waterproof render systems — DuraCoat Deco and similar systems providing a decorative and water-repellent finish to external facades
  • Silane/siloxane water repellents — deep-penetrating treatments that repel water without changing the appearance of exposed concrete or masonry
  • Anti-corrosion coatings for steel — zinc-rich primers and epoxy topcoats protecting structural steel elements from corrosion
Energy Efficiency

Heat Reflective Coatings
for Sri Lanka's Climate

A concrete roof slab in Sri Lanka can reach surface temperatures exceeding 70°C under direct sunlight — transferring intense heat into the building below and dramatically increasing air conditioning loads and energy costs. Our heat reflective roof coatings address this directly.

By reflecting solar radiation rather than absorbing it, these specialist coatings reduce roof surface temperatures by up to 30–40°C — directly reducing heat transfer into the building and cutting cooling energy consumption significantly.

  • Solar reflectance index (SRI) > 100 on white heat reflective systems
  • Roof surface temperature reduction of 30–40°C vs uncoated concrete
  • Compatible with most waterproofing systems — applied as a topcoat
  • Reduces air conditioning energy consumption and extends system life
  • Extends the waterproofing membrane's own service life by reducing thermal cycling
  • Suitable for flat roofs, industrial roofs and commercial building rooftops

Why It Matters

Benefits of Protective Coatings
& Insulation

🏗️
Extended Structure Life

Protective coatings dramatically slow down carbonation, moisture ingress and chloride attack — extending the service life of your concrete structure by decades.

💰
Reduced Energy Costs

Heat reflective coatings and thermal insulation reduce cooling loads — cutting air conditioning energy consumption and lowering monthly electricity bills substantially.

🎨
Improved Appearance

Decorative protective coatings and render systems give your building a premium, uniform finish — enhancing kerb appeal and property value.

🌡️
Better Comfort

Thermal and acoustic insulation creates more comfortable interior environments — cooler in summer, quieter throughout the year, and with more stable internal temperatures.

🛡️
Waterproof Protection

Elastomeric and waterproof coating systems prevent moisture ingress through walls and facades — stopping damp, mold and internal water damage before it starts.

🌱
Lower Carbon Footprint

By reducing energy consumption through better insulation and reflective coatings, your building becomes more sustainable — lower energy use means lower carbon emissions.

Our Process

How We Select & Apply
the Right System

1
Site Survey & Substrate Assessment
We assess the existing surface — its condition, substrate type, porosity, existing coatings and any defects requiring remediation before the new coating is applied.
2
System Selection & Specification
Based on the substrate, exposure conditions and performance requirements, we specify the correct coating or insulation system — selecting from our certified Supercrete NZ product range.
3
Surface Preparation
All loose material, contamination, algae, efflorescence and failed existing coatings are removed. Cracks and defects are repaired. The surface is cleaned and prepared to the required profile for optimum adhesion.
4
Primer Application
A compatible primer coat is applied to seal the substrate and ensure optimum bonding of the subsequent coating layers — critical for long-term adhesion performance.
5
Coating Application
The specified system is applied in the correct number of coats at the manufacturer's specified coverage rates — ensuring the system achieves its rated performance and warranty conditions are met.
6
Quality Inspection & Sign-off
Dry film thickness checks, adhesion testing and visual inspection confirm the application meets specification. Your warranty certificate is issued and the work is handed over.
Common Questions

Protective Coatings & Insulation FAQs

How often do protective coatings need to be reapplied?
Quality protective coatings typically last 10–20 years depending on the system type, exposure conditions and the thoroughness of surface preparation. Anti-carbonation coatings generally require re-inspection every 10 years. Heat reflective coatings may need re-coating every 8–12 years as the reflective pigment gradually degrades with UV exposure.
Can protective coatings be applied over existing paint?
It depends on the condition and type of existing coating. Sound, well-adhered existing paint can sometimes be coated over with appropriate primer and compatibility testing. Failed, flaking or incompatible coatings must be fully removed before applying a new protective system. We assess this during our site survey.
How much does heat reflective coating reduce room temperature?
By reducing roof surface temperature by 30–40°C, heat reflective coatings can reduce ceiling surface temperatures by 8–15°C and ambient room temperature by 3–6°C in a typical Sri Lankan building — significantly reducing the load on air conditioning systems and improving comfort in non-air-conditioned spaces.
Can coatings be applied in any colour?
Yes — most elastomeric and decorative coating systems are available in a wide range of colours. However, for maximum heat reflective performance, white or very light colours are significantly more effective than dark colours. We advise on the optimum colour balance between aesthetics and thermal performance for your specific project.
