What is Duraproof AC 300?
Duraproof AC 300 is a fundamentally different type of waterproofing product from the Duraflex slurry range — it is a premium, elastic, ready-to-use liquid coating based on 100% acrylic UV cross-linking resins, designed primarily for the waterproofing and protection of external walls, facades and surfaces exposed to driving rain.
Unlike cementitious slurry systems that are mixed and applied in multiple passes, Duraproof AC 300 is a one-component, ready-to-use liquid coating — no mixing, no measuring, simply stir and apply by brush, roller or spray. The 100% acrylic formulation incorporates UV cross-linking technology that dramatically improves resistance to UV degradation compared to standard acrylic coatings — maintaining elasticity and colour over the long term in Sri Lanka's intense tropical UV environment.
The product achieves absolute water impermeability — zero water uptake through the cured membrane — while simultaneously being vapour-permeable. This critical combination means it keeps liquid water out while allowing water vapour generated inside the building to escape through the wall, preventing trapped moisture and the associated mold growth and structural damage.
Its high elasticity allows it to bridge hairline cracks up to 1mm wide that form in rendered and masonry surfaces — a common occurrence in Sri Lanka's climate where thermal cycling causes surface cracking. It also blocks the ingress of CO₂ and chloride ions through the wall surface, significantly slowing the carbonation of the concrete and masonry behind it.

Duraproof AC 300 is uniquely vapour-permeable: it allows the natural moisture movement of a healthy wall to continue while providing a complete barrier against liquid water, CO₂ and other aggressive atmospheric agents. This breathability is critical for heritage buildings, older masonry and any structure with internal moisture generation.
