Two Product Types
Curing Compounds & Mould Release Agents —
Both critical for concrete quality — applied at different stages of construction
💧
Stage 1 — Before Casting
Mould Release Agents

Applied to the inside face of formwork or moulds before concrete is cast — prevents the fresh concrete from bonding to the formwork surface, ensuring clean and easy striking without surface damage to the concrete element.

Products: ReleaseForm WB (water-based) · ReleaseForm SL (solvent-based)
🌡️
Stage 2 — After Casting
Curing Compounds

Applied to freshly placed concrete immediately after surface finishing — forms a membrane that retains moisture in the concrete during the critical early hydration period, ensuring full design strength is achieved and surface cracking is prevented.

Products: CureCrete WB (water-based curing compound)

Critical in Sri Lanka's Climate
Why Curing is Non-Negotiable
in Tropical Conditions

In Sri Lanka's tropical climate — intense sun, high ambient temperatures (30–38°C) and low relative humidity during dry season — fresh concrete loses moisture through evaporation at a rate that can be up to 5–10 times faster than temperate climates. Without a curing compound, the surface concrete dries out before hydration is complete, resulting in reduced strength, surface cracking, dusting and poor durability that shortens the structure's service life.

Why It Matters

Concrete Without Curing vs
Concrete Properly Cured

✗ Without Curing Compound
  • Moisture evaporates rapidly in Sri Lanka's heat — hydration stops prematurely
  • Surface strength can be 30–40% below design strength
  • Plastic shrinkage cracks form within hours of placing
  • Surface dusting — concrete surface becomes powdery and weak
  • Increased permeability — structure more vulnerable to water and carbonation
  • Reduced service life — earlier onset of deterioration
✓ With CureCrete Curing Compound
  • Moisture retained in concrete for complete hydration of all cement particles
  • Full design compressive strength achieved at 28 days
  • Surface cracking eliminated — smooth, dense concrete surface
  • Hard, abrasion-resistant surface — no dusting
  • Lower permeability — better resistance to water and chemical attack
  • Longer service life — maximum return on concrete investment
Curing Process

How Curing Compounds Work —
Three Stages

1
Finishing & Surface Preparation
Concrete is placed, compacted and finished to the required surface texture. Once bleed water has evaporated and the surface has lost its sheen — but before surface drying begins — the curing compound is applied
2
Curing Compound Application
CureCrete WB is applied uniformly by spray, roller or brush at the specified coverage rate — forming a continuous, pinhole-free membrane across the entire surface. A second coat perpendicular to the first is recommended for full coverage
3
Moisture Retention & Hydration
The cured membrane retains moisture in the concrete for 7–28 days — allowing the cement to fully hydrate and develop its designed strength. The membrane naturally degrades over time, requiring no removal before subsequent treatments
Mould Release Agents

Water-Based vs Solvent-Based
Release Agents — When to Use Each

💧
Eco-Friendly
Water-Based Release Agent
ReleaseForm WB

Water-based, low-VOC release agent — the environmentally preferred choice for most standard formwork applications. Safe for use in enclosed spaces, near watercourses and in environmentally sensitive areas.

  • Low VOC — safe for enclosed spaces and occupied buildings
  • Non-flammable — no fire risk on site
  • Clean spray application — no solvent fumes
  • Suitable for timber, steel and GRP formwork
  • Clean concrete surface after striking
  • Best for standard in-situ construction
High Performance
Solvent-Based Release Agent
ReleaseForm SL

High-performance solvent-based release agent for heavy-duty and demanding applications — precast concrete production, repeated use of complex steel moulds and architectural concrete where a perfect surface finish is critical.

  • Superior release from complex mould geometries
  • Performs in high-temperature, high-humidity conditions
  • Excellent for precast production and repeated use moulds
  • Higher coverage rate — more economical per m²
  • No surface staining on exposed architectural concrete
  • Best for demanding precast and infrastructure works
