What is Duraproof SB 40?
Duraproof SB 40 is one of the most versatile products in the Supercrete range — a single ready-to-use acrylic liquid that can be used in two fundamentally different ways on site: as a waterproofing admixture added directly to cement mixes, or as a standalone brush-applied waterproof render mixed with cement and applied to concrete and masonry surfaces.
The product is based on high-quality acrylic polymer chemistry — the same proven technology that gives Supercrete's acrylic coating range its outstanding waterproofing performance. When added to cementitious mixes (concrete, mortar, grout, cement slurry), it acts as an admixture that dramatically improves the mix's adhesion to existing substrates, reduces permeability and waterproofing performance, and improves durability and flexibility of the cured material.
When mixed with cement powder alone to form a cementitious slurry, Duraproof SB 40 creates a brush-applied waterproof render — a simple, cost-effective waterproofing system for concrete and masonry surfaces that can be applied in two or three coats to build up a waterproof membrane directly on the substrate.
This dual functionality makes Duraproof SB 40 an exceptionally practical product for construction sites — one 10L bucket can be used to waterproof a slab, improve a repair mortar, enhance a tile-fixing slurry and bond new concrete to old, all on the same project.

Two Application Modes —
Step by Step
Replace part or all of the gauging water in your cement mix with Duraproof SB 40 — or use as a diluted admixture depending on the required improvement level. Refer to the TDS for specific mix ratios.
- 1 Calculate mix proportions per TDS
- 2 Add SB 40 in place of gauging water
- 3 Mix thoroughly to uniform consistency
- 4 Apply as you would the normal mix
Mix Duraproof SB 40 with Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) to form a smooth, lump-free slurry — then brush-apply to the prepared substrate in multiple coats, allowing each coat to cure before the next.
- 1 Prepare & wet the substrate surface
- 2 Mix SB 40 + OPC to smooth slurry
- 3 Apply 1st coat by brush — work into surface
- 4 Allow to cure — apply 2nd (and 3rd) coat
